Couldn’t agree with you more on the Goundrey – tried to approach this wine a few times long ago and found the same. Same goes for Barwang – sometimes their Shiraz can hit the spot but their whites are seriously underwhelming and as you say how can they pin all that bling on them? Bit of bribery perhaps. Will check out the Cabernet Merlot and the Mitchell Cabernet. Did try the 2007 and found it a little too reserved for me. Btw opened a Hanlin Hill 2003 the other day and it is drinking magnificently – as you and I always say Rieslings have got to be the best value/quality wines in Australia. Thankfully the NZ Savvy Fruit Bomb lovers in Sydney (mainly housewives) will never drink it so thanks for doing us a favour ladies! 🙂
